BACKGROUND

With its 14 E-3A aircraft, our organization plays a critical role in NATO and our mission is to deliver ready, responsive Airborne Early Warning, Battle Management, and Command and Control capability to operational commanders in support of North Atlantic Council (NAC) approved tasks.

 

The Logistics Wing (LW) is responsible for the safe and effective maintenance of the NE-3A fleet conducted at the Main Operating Base (MOB)/Forward Operating Bases/Location (FOBs/L) and other deployed locations to sustain delivery of the E-3A Component operational output.

 

The Logistics Plans, Scheduling & Analysis Branch is responsible for preparing mid- and long-term aircraft, engines, equipment and resources utilization and flying schedules.

 

The incumbent will ensure that the Programme Integrated Logistics System (PILS) is maintained valid, current stock and part numbers through processing computer stock list changes received from the USA and DEU Air Forces and NSPA Procurement and Contracting and conducting research. Contributes to the LW Training Programme.

THE ROLE

 

The incumbent's duties are:

 

  • Verifying valid Mission Capable (MICAP) conditions with Maintenance Operation Center assistance;
  • Following established procedures and checklist to process MICAP demands in the Programmed Integrated Logistics System (PILS);
  • Processing supply inputs into the Programmed Integrated Logistics System (PILS);
  • Researching stock availability through various military and civilian sources;
  • Ensuring effective and efficient handling of priority requirements from maintenance activities;
  • Ensuring timely and complete updating and maintaining of all pertinent supply and maintenance records;
  • Updating basic manuals and technical publications as assigned;
  • Researching, verifying and coordinating supply and maintenance data to fill priority and routine demands in the most expeditious manner;
  • Ensuring Mission Related Spares Package withdrawals are processed expeditiously to satisfy MICAP demands;
  • Monitoring Mission Capable demands to ensure necessary follow-up is established;
  • Ensuring frequent contact with Stock Control, NATO Support Agency (NSPA, and Air Force Security Assistance Center (AFSAC) concerning all MICAP Situations;
  • Executing, monitoring, and validating the current Mutual Emergency Spares and Assistance Agreement (MESAA) with the UK and France;
  • Monitoring inputs in all office data bases for correctness;
  • Obtaining approval for and initiating high priority shipments (Red Star Express) in support of aircraft grounded at Main Operating Base (MOB), deployed aircraft, and aircraft at depot level maintenance;
  • Researching, reporting availability, and following –up on stock level inquiries from base customers;
  • Adding, changing, and deleting bench stock details;
  • Performing Customer Support Function for supply related issues;
  • Conducting On-the Job Training to newly assigned personnel in relation to the job description;
  • Validating customer requests for the assignment of new item records;
  • Preparing, processing and following-up on requests for items listed in FEDLOG and/or NMCRL;
  • Processing inputs to load item records in PILS;
  • Researching Technical Orders, commercial internet sites, Supply handbooks, USAF and NATO parts cataloguing systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  • Good working knowledge of supply management principles, in particular of procedures related to supply support of aircraft maintenance activities acquired through at least 3 years related, current professional experience;
  • Experience with a computer-based supply management information system;
  • Secondary education and completed basic vocational training in a supply related field or Secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills, with 2 years experience;
  • Driving license equivalent to European Class B;
  • The work, both oral and written, in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English therefore sufficient English proficiency is essential;
  • Adequate knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP) is required.

 

 

THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE

 

  • Previous relevant NATO assignment;
  • Experience working in an international / military environment;
  • Relevant (job-related) experience working in an international / military environment;
  • Working knowledge of any national Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP);
  • Good working knowledge of supply management principles, in particular of property accounting as well as methods of establishing and maintaining supply records/documents acquired through at least 3 years related, current professional experience;
  • Completed intermediate vocational training in a supply related field;
  • User training in the E-3A Component Programme Integrated Logistics System (PILS);
  • Knowledge of the Host Nation (German) language.

CONTRACT

 

Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.

 

Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.

 

 

SALARY

 

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
