ABOUT YOU

We are hiring highly motivated individuals to join our Medical Squadron Team as a Paramedic/Ambulance Driver with additional experience and/or knowledge in managing funds/budget. In addition to providing paramedic services and expertise, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the Medical Squadron`s budget and holding a Purchase Card for office supplies while assisting in maintaining medical equipment and drugs storage. Your contribution will directly support successful patience emergency care as well as the management of medical and office supply storage, and play a key role in ensuring operational and medical readiness—impacting both ground and flight safety.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have at a minimum, a secondary education combined with a strong background/proficiency and current training as an emergency paramedic (Notfallsanitäter). They must hold the appropriate driver’s license, including authorization to operate ambulance vehicles. Adequate English proficiency alongside with basic knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems are required to be successful in the job. Additionally, proficiency in the Host Nation language (German) is highly desirable.

Experience in office management, along with the ability to support the handling of office and medical supplies as well as associated funds/budgets, would be a strong asset. Further qualifications or training in emergency medical services—such as certification as an Organizational Leader of Rescue Forces—and experience within an international and/or military organization would be considered strong advantages.

YOUR ROLE

Your duties will include but are not limited to

  • Leading in the medical emergency and acute care of patients in an emergency;

  • Independently implementing specified medical measures (including invasive measures) and assessing the state of sick/injured patients;

  • Establishing and securing the ability of patients to be transported in an emergency and ensuring appropriate transfer of patients for further medical treatment;

  • Documenting the emergency medical and tactical measures used and carrying out quality assurance;

  • Ensuring that the rescue equipment is operational while observing and complying with hygiene regulations and legal frames;

  • Liaising with local medical practitioners and hospitals and providing medical support for deployments;

  • Acing as Purchase Card holder for office supplies and assisting in maintaining medical equipment and drugs store;

  • Managing the Medical Squadron budget and related funds;

YOUR SKILLS

  • Ability to provide acute care for patients in an emergency with discretion, tact, and diplomacy at all times and across all levels;

  • Proven skills in dealing with medical supply funds/budgets;

  • Good communicational skills to handle emergency situations and proven intercultural skills/awareness to deal with patients in an international setting;

  • Ability to ensure accuracy and efficiency in administrative processes,.

You will be part of the Medical Supply Section that is responsible for ordering all medications and medical supplies / equipment for all Medical Squadron’s Branches, Sections and all stationary first aid boxes at the Main Operational Base (MOB) Geilenkirchen. In general, the Medical Squadron provides medical care, aero medical and dental care, in accordance with the Concept of Operations NAEW&CF. This includes 24/7 medical emergency services for a limited time period to support Main Operating Base (MOB) Geilenkirchen airfield operations and maintenance activities.

CONTRACT

Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.

Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.
