BACKGROUND

With its 14 E-3A aircraft, our organization plays a critical role in NATO and our mission is to deliver ready, responsive Airborne Early Warning, Battle Management, and Command and Control capability to operational commanders in support of NAC-approved tasks.

 

The Maintenance Production Squadron is responsible for the management of all short-term maintenance activities and executes all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance. The Aircraft Systems Branch performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft systems and components for aircraft fuselage, control surfaces, pneudraulic, fuel, electrics and environmental control systems, engines and auxiliary power units (APU) at MOB and deployed locations. The Fuselage Section performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft systems and system components for aircraft fuselage, control surfaces, fuel systems and pneudraulic systems at MOB and deployed locations.

 

The incumbent is responsible for all maintenance production concerning pneudraulic systems, fuel systems, fuselage/landing gears and flight control systems within the Aircraft Systems Branch. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of a/c, a/c components and related equipment/tools. Contributes to the LW training programme.

THE ROLE

 

The incumbent will be responsible for:

 

  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a/c fuselage systems (pneudraulic, fuel, fuselage/landing gear, aircraft doors and flight controls);
  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, inspection, testing, modification, evaluation, repair, replacement and adjustment of a/c components and related support/test equipment and tools to include AGE ground equipment basic servicing;
  • Performing inspections, leak checks and maintenance inside a/c integral tanks in accordance with applicable Technical Orders/instructions;
  • Maintaining inspection and maintenance records;
  • Supporting engine ground runs;
  • Performing a/c ground handling;
  • Performing acceptance and transfer inspections under guidance of Quality Control;
  • Inspecting, testing and certifying the condition of new parts stored at supply locations;
  • Providing technical information on assigned equipment, assisting debriefing experts and recommending methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures;
  • Functioning as technical publications, Consolidated Tool Kit (CTK) and tool monitor;
  • As functional area subject matter expert (SME), providing the LW Training Section inputs on training analysis, required level of learning and method of delivery related aspects;
  • As functional area subject matter expert (SME), supports other LW training courses as directed;
  • Conducting on-the-job training (OJT) and advises newly assigned personnel;
  • Required to cross-train and qualify in all section assigned trades;
  • Operating logistic related computer terminals;
  • Operating motor vehicles, support and test equipment;
  • Performing dispatcher and general housekeeping duties.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  • Very good working knowledge of aircraft fuselage systems maintenance acquired through at least 3 years related, current professional experience;
  • Good working knowledge of interpreting technical publications and independently analysing and rectifying technical problems;
  • Higher Secondary education and completed intermediate vocational training in aircraft maintenance encompassing the mentioned aircraft fuselage systems, or Secondary education and completed appropriate advanced vocational training with at least 4 years post related, current professional experience;
  • Driving license equivalent to European Class B;
  • The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English therefore sufficient English proficiency is essential;
  • Basic knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP) is required.

 

 

THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE

 

  • Previous NATO assignment;
  • Experience working in an international / military environment;
  • Experience in maintaining aircraft, or aircraft systems;
  • Basic knowledge of Disabled Aircraft Recovery (DAR); 
  • Basic vocational or comparable training in Disabled Aircraft Recovery (DAR).

CONTRACT

 

Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.

 

 Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.

 

 

SALARY

 

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
