About the job:

Based in Brain L’ Alleud, Belgium, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Senior Engineer & Systems Engineer (CIS Security) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities, amongst others:

Senior Engineer (CIS Security):

•    Act as the NISC CIS Accreditation Lead – providing a single point of contact for all NISC staff for accreditation activities;
•    Manage a team of specialised engineers conducting accreditation related activities;
•    Provide information security oversight of all NISC managed CIS and networks within the Agency, both for internal operations and for Agency’s customer-funded networks, Programme of Work, and ensures the adequate level of systems/data protection in accordance with NATO CIS Security policies and directives;
•   Conduct Security Risk Assessment in support of security accreditation of NATO CIS;
•    Contribute to the development of required documents for security accreditation;

Systems Engineer (CIS Security)

•    Provide information security oversight of all NISC managed CIS and networks within the Agency, both for internal operations and for Agency’s customer-funded networks, Programme of Work, and ensures the adequate level of systems/data protection in accordance with NATO CIS Security policies and directives.
•   Conduct Security Risk Assessment in support of security accreditation of NATO CIS, in particular; identify level of threats and vulnerabilities for all assets comprising NATO CIS, derive residual risks and provide risk management recommendations.
•   Contribute to the development of required documents for security accreditation;
•  Witness security testing (in accordance with Security Test and Verification Plan STVP) and coordinate the execution of the remediation plans.
•  Design, deploy, configure, maintain and operate the Active Directory, endpoint and network security solutions and tools for NISC managed CIS, ensuring continuous security monitoring and vulnerabilities remediation coordination.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

Senior Engineer (CIS Security):

•   A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience;
•    Experience with conducting security risk assessments and with the security accreditation process, including the development of the required documentation;
•   Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of computers and communication security, networking, and the vulnerabilities of modern operating systems and applications.
•    Experience with implementation and integration of CIS Security protective measures in enterprise environments.
•    Knowledge of CIS Security Policy (or similar and comparable security policies) and supporting directives.
•    Experience with Cyber Hygiene and the top Critical Security Controls for effective cyber defence.
•    Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Systems Engineer (CIS Security)

•   A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience;
•   Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of computers and communication security, networking, and the vulnerabilities of modern operating systems and applications.
•    Experience with implementation and integration of CIS Security protective measures in enterprise environments.
•    Experience with Cyber Hygiene and the top Critical Security Controls for effective cyber defence.
•    Experience with and ability to investigate and analyse complex scenarios and solve problems in innovative ways.
•    Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
