About the job:

Based in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.  

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Senior Engineer (Cloud Administrator) who will take on the likes of the following roles and responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Cloud environments (AWS, MS Azure); 
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM;
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automating the deployment of cloud services;
• Communicate with project managers and customers, understanding of requirements and issues, and management of expectations;
• Provide expert advice throughout all the phases of new developments of public cloud technologies, from planning to execution;
• Deputize for higher-grade staff, if required;
• Perform other duties as required.

About you: 

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role should include:

 A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.

• At least 3 years’ experience in cloud service management including below:
• Practical experience in implementing projects in cloud environment and related security challenges and solutions;
• Experience with Microsoft cloud environment databases, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft O365)
• Experience with Amazon AWS cloud environment (IAM, EC2, ALB, Cloudfront, Cloud formation, WAF, Monitoring, Storage, Cognito)
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers
• Strong scripting skills: Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure ARM, Cloud formation templates
• Sound knowledge on cloud ecosystem and strong CIS technical background;
• Ability to assist in design/architecture of cloud solutions, and understanding business needs to introduce Cloud based solutions;
• Good understanding different agile delivery methodologies;
• Holding ITIL Foundation Level Certification
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
