About the job:

Based in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for cyber security. In executing this responsibility, NCSC provides specialist cyber security-related services covering the spectrum of scientific, technical, acquisition, operations, maintenance, and sustainment support, throughout the lifecycle of NATO Communications and Information Systems (CIS).

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Principal Project Manager who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Project management: takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects;
  • Requirements definition and management: plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for large, complex initiatives;
  • Risk management: carries out risk management activities within a specific function, technical area or project of medium complexity;
  • User experience evaluation: manages user experience evaluation of systems, products, services or devices;
  • Contract management: negotiates and resolves contractual issues, including failure to meet contractual obligations;
  • Stakeholder relationship management: builds long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and external);
  • Manage a team of Project Managers responsible for the design and implementation of major NATO Security Investment Programme (NSIP) projects in the area of Cyber Security.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • A Master’s degree at a recognised university in a related discipline and 5 years post-related experience. Or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years post related experience;
  • Recent practical experience (at least 5 years) in Project management of acquisition and / or development complex projects for a large organization;
  • Extensive experience in Project Management tools, managing cost and labour;
  • Strong experience in leading geographically dispersed teams, preferably in international environment;
  • Extensive experience in project administration (resource management, project financing and budgeting);
  • Relevant experience in stakeholder management and relationship management;
  • A formal project management qualification such as PRINCE 2 or PMI PMP;
  • Extensive experience in the management of large Cyber Security or ICT projects;
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
