Post Context/Post Summary

The NATO Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Group plans, deliver and supports NATO’s Deployable Communication and Information Systems (DCIS) in order to enable command and control (C2) for NATO’s deployed HQs.

The J2/6 Division is the technical coordination authority for Deployable Communication Information Systems and is responsible for the operational integration, coordination, direction and provision of required technical services for the NATO Communications Information Systems Group and NATO Signal Battalions.

The Technology and Service Management Branch is responsible for Deployable Communication Information Systems (DCIS) Technical and Service Management coordination and for providing operational integration, operations and exercise architectures, support and guidance to NATO Communications Information Systems Group and NATO Signal Battalions. 

The Service Support Section is responsible for describing, developing, coordinating, maintaining, enforcing, managing and monitoring an effective and efficient implementation and execution of integrated and correlated Information Technology (IT) Service Management processes and procedures for both NCISG Static and Deployable Communications & Information Systems (DCIS).

The incumbent is responsible for DCIS Service Management specifically in support of the NCISG Regional Plans.

Principal Duties

The incumbent's duties are:

1. Implements Service Management processes for DCIS for NCISGs 25 Units related to the NCISG Regional Plans in coordination with NCIA.

2. Ensure all processes are performed in line with the Regional Plans readiness schedule.

3. Collects, categorises and analyses necessary ITSM Support Groups/Users for Regional Plans in full coordination with NCIA.

4. Ensure Regional Plans Configuration data is collected, validated and distributed/published.

5. Coordinates the implementation of SM processes with NCIA.

6. Identify, analyse, evaluate, monitor and raise relevant risks related with ICT deliverables to the necessary Regional Plans forums.

7. Monitors, records and escalates as necessary the NCIA deliverables defined within the SLA specifically for Regional Plans.

8. Aligns the Regional Plans requirements for implementation within the existing DCIS Service Management processes.

 

Special Requirements and Additional Duties

1.         The incumbent may be required to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises, and/or TDY assignments, both within and without NATO boundaries up to 180 days. The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organization at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.

Essential Qualifications

A.        Professional/Experience

1.    Service Management process implementation in a CIS environment.

2.    Advanced knowledge of MS Office.

3.    Experience in Configuration Management in a CIS environment.

4.    Experience in creating support structures within ITSM in a CIS environment. 

5.    ITIL V3 or V4

 

B.        Education/Training

Higher Secondary education and intermediate vocational training which might lead to a formal qualification with 3 years’ experience, or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.

C.        Language

English - SLP 3322 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)

 

Desirable Qualifications

A.           Professional Experience

1.    Experience with Configuration Management.

2.    Experience with Incident Management.

3.    Experience implementing ITSM support structures in a CIS environment.

4.    Experience with incident management.

5.    Experience in IOCORE toolset or equivalent Configuration Management toolsets.

 

B.           Education/Training

1.    Specific experience in ITIL Service Operation v3 or equivalent v4.

2.    NATO C4ISR Orientation for Officers (CCC-SM-22206) provided by NATO Communications and Information Academy (NCI Academy).

3.    NATO Orientation Course (ETE-MW-3834) provided by NATO - School Oberammergau (NSO).

1.    Personal Attributes: - The incumbent should have the following attributes: adaptability; ability to work within a team but also independently; attention to detail is a must; initiative.

2.    Professional Contacts: - Regular professional contacts with others inside and/or outside immediate organisation on functional matters. Solicits/gives information and provides advice/guidance.

3.    Contribution to Objectives: - Work involves the provision of information or analysis of part of a task assisting others to take action within the organisation.

 

REMARKS:

WHAT WE OFFER

- 38 hours per week schedule;

- 2.5 paid days of leave per month worked;

- Fulfilling working atmosphere in an international and military community;

- Contract period: definite duration contract until 31/12/2025;

- Salary: the remuneration of temporary personnel will be specified in their contracts. It is exempt from taxation in the Host Nation;

- Benefits package: temporary personnel are covered by a benefits package which consists of an additional sum of 12% of basic salary for pension purposes + basic medical and accident insurance provided under the NATO Group insurance contract (death and invalidity). The cost for insurance amounts to 2.57% of basic salary (2/3 payable by the Organisation and 1/3 payable by staff);

- For staff eligible under NATO rules, there is also a dependent child allowance and coverage for dependent children for medical benefits.
