As part of the Aircraft and Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Servicing Branch, the Tools & Equipment Section is responsible for maintaining tools, equipment, and hazardous materials in support of aircraft periodic inspections as well as flight line use.

 

The incumbent performs tools and equipment functions, including consolidated tool kit management functions and inventory. Researches and justifies the requisition of equipment, tools and supplies. Maintains consolidated tool kits for flight line use. Maintains bench stock to include ordering and inventory. Contributes to the LW Training Programme.

THE ROLE

 

The incumbent's duties are:

 

The incumbent's duties are:

  • Tracking, maintaining and updating Hazardous Materials Handling (HAZMAT) binder in coordination with base environmental division (SOC);
  • Procuring, storing and controlling of equipment, tools and hazardous material;
  • Conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections and adjustment of aircraft Consolidated Tool kits (CTK) bench stock;
  • Assisting and overseeing all administrative/supply functions and special projects;
  • Tracking and supporting equipment-related mobility actions;
  • As functional area subject matter expert (SME), provides the LW Training Section inputs on training analysis, required level of learning and method of delivery related aspects;
  • Conducting OJT and advises newly assigned personnel;
  • Ensuring that the calibration programme for inspections and maintenance records are updated;
  • Tracking and supporting equipment-related mobility actions of the Wing;
  • Operating motor vehicles, support and test equipment;
  • Performing dispatcher and general housekeeping duties, including ground snow/ice removal;
  • Assisting in managing and controlling all aspects of the Squadron Tools & Equipment (CTK) program;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  • A fully qualified Supply Specialist and/or having a technical background or technical vocational training;
  • Experience in material storage operations and other supply related functions to include supervision of personnel;
  • Driving license equivalent to European Class B;
  • Experience in material management, especially in warehousing functions;
  • Secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills, with 2 years experience;
  • The work both oral and written, in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole, is conducted mainly in English therefore sufficient English proficiency is essential;
  • Adequate knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP) is required.

 

 

THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE

 

  • Previous NATO assignment;
  • Experience working in an international / military environment;
  • Experience in the maintenance of aircraft support equipment;
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance;
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment functions;
  • Vocational training in supply/inventory control;
  • Experience handling Hazardous Material (HAZMAT);
  • Experience managing technical documentation and database as Technical Order Librarian.

CONTRACT

 

This is a limited duration requirement.  In accordance with the NCPRs, newly recruited staff will be offered a definite duration contract not exceeding two years, with the possibility of renewal for up to further two years.

 

 

SALARY

 

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
