Staff Assistant (Security Accreditation)

ACT contributes to preserving the peace, security and territorial integrity of Alliance member states by leading, at Strategic Command level, Warfare Development required to enhance NATO’s posture, military structures, forces, capabilities and doctrines.
The Resources and Management (RM) Directorate acts on behalf of SACT on all internal management and resource-related issues. It monitors the coherency of ACT plans to ensure that ACT remains an effective and efficient organization and improves continuously.
The ACT Office of Security has staff responsibility to execute, provide and coordinate security services to the headquarters, its subordinate commands, and to the NATO community at large, operating at all levels of command to ensure the security of its personnel, assets, and resources.
The Staff Assistant (Security Accreditation) in the ACT Office of Security provides specialist support to CIS security for ACT.
Principal Duties:
- Providing security accreditation support for ACT (HQ and subcommands) and NATO CIS Security Accreditation Board. Performing status review of software Change Requests (CRs), coordinating the resolution of questions or clarifications with author and HQ personnel and tracking CRs until completion/rejection.
- Participating in HQ SACT sponsored Security Accreditation Boards.
- Providing security status briefs for HQ CIS Security Accreditation Boards, User Groups and, the Change Advisory Board and the Configuration Control Boards as required.
- Supporting the NATO CIS/Cyber security education and awareness programme
- Conducting technical investigations in support of security programme development, policy enforcement, and CIS violation investigations
- Conduction and oversight of security testing for NATO and SACT CIS
- Support and assist during investigations of security incidents as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
- 3-5 Years of experience in software configuration management and information security compliance
- 3-5 Years of experience in security accreditation and regulation compliance, including conducting audits, assessing risks, and implementing compliance programs
- 3-5 Years of experience in systems testing
- In-depth knowledge of computer forensic tools and techniques
- 2-3 years of experience in complex CIS design and implementation
Language:
English - SLP 3322 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
Desirable Qualifications / Experience:
- Knowledge of the organization and structure of NATO.
- NATO Security Course (MPG-MP-2699) provided by NATO - School Oberammergau (NSO)
- NATO CIS Security Officer (CCC-IA-26972) provided by NATO Communications and Information Academy (NCI Academy)

Personal Attributes:
- Capable of working harmoniously in a multi-national environment, as a HQ SACT representative and presenting ACT positions in a firm but tactful manner.
- She/He must be self-motivated and is expected to work unsupervised in the performance of assigned duties.
- She/He must also display a good general knowledge of systems engineering and be able to apply that knowledge in novel and imaginative ways
Professional Contacts:
- Must be able to liaise both internally and externally with military and civilian personnel od all grades and ranks.
Contribution To Objectives:
- The post provides the technical knowledge and guidance to ensure that HQ SACTS’s IT infrastructure remains secure. She/He takes a prominent role in ensuring the quality of CIS products developed by the engineering teams delivering new products in support of ACT’s mission.
Security Clearance
The successful applicant will be required to apply for and receive a NATO SECRET Security Clearance prior to final confirmation of contract and commencement of employment.
Contract
Serving NATO International Civilian staff will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will be offered a three-year definite duration contract.
