About the job:
Based in The Hague, Netherlands you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. The Air Command and Control (AirC2) Business Area is tasked to build and support NATO’s AirC2 and BMD capabilities. This requires the support of a team of high performance technical experts to advise on and perform the required technical work to develop and maintain those capabilities.
The Engineering Functional Group ensures AirC2 capabilities are developed in line with NATO policies, maintaining coherence and interoperability across systems. It acts as the AirC2 Technical Design Authority, managing domain architectures, strategies, and technical assets, and supports multi-domain NATO operations.
We are recruiting for a Senior Capability Engineer— an Air Mission Control domain-specific technical specialist who will orchestrate system-of-system development, design capabilities based on requirements, maintain and evolve domain architectures, and ensure the completeness, feasibility, and interoperability of solutions in coordination with solution engineers.

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
- A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience.
- Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
- We require a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in the development of complex software-intensive Air C2 and/or Ballistic Missile Defence Systems to include planning, management, analysis, design, implementation, test and installation aspects;
- Excellent briefing skills and the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
