About the job:

Based in The Hague, Netherlands you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. The Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) Programme Office (PO) is responsible for developing and maintaining the NATO defence systems against ballistic missile threats along the entire life-cycle. By ensuring a holistic approach to Architecture design, systems development and capability test and integration, the BMD PO strives to evolve NATO capabilities to empower seamless, resilient and adaptable NATO BMD operations and provide a federated system of systems to support the execution of Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD).

The Principal Integration and Test Engineer role is a leadership-driven position that blends technical expertise with strategic oversight. This individual will lead testing initiatives, shape processes, and ensure alignment with business goals. Responsibilities include overseeing defect management, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and enhancing user experience and performance standards. Their role is critical in delivering high-quality, functional systems that meet operational objectives.

Your role will include the following duties:

  • Testing
  • User experience evaluation
  • Systems installation and transition to operations
  • Service acceptance

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • A Master’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 5 years post-related experience. Or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years post related experience.
  • Extensive experience in test, integration and interoperability activities for complex defence systems;
  • A thorough appreciation of the operational use of air and missile defence; a wider understanding of Command and Control (C2) for Theatre Missile Defence and C2 decision-making and data processing;
  • Proven experience in Benefit Management as benefit owner in the role of Senior User and/or Business Change Manager, or extensive experience in supporting realization of benefits to users
  • Extensive experience in development and/or acquisition of air and missile defence systems, battle management command and control system components, interceptor system components, surveillance system components or in distributed interactive network simulations related to the BMD components listed above.
