Qualifications
· University degree (Bachelors or higher) in international relations, foreign policy, public diplomacy, political science, or related discipline. (essential)
· 2 years' experience in the field of foreign policy or international relations
· Knowledge of general NATO political and military matters (essential)
· Recent experience in an international organization (desirable)
· English Language - NATO Standard Language Proficiency - LSRW (Listening-Speaking-Reading-Writing) - 3333. (For more information on NATO STANAG 6001: https://natobilc.org/ )
Job Description
1. Support and back up the Political Advisor, especially during absences, with regard to:
- Identifying emerging pol-mil issues
- Researching and synthesizing 4-star level reports.
- Policy and planning initiatives.
- Linking with relevant civilian / political representatives of NATO; government officials of member, partner and other nations; International Organizations, academic bodies and think-tanks.
- Ensuring coherence of LANDCOM initiatives with NATO and ACO policy, political direction and guidance.
- Providing targeted briefings and think pieces on potential areas of conflict, including political developments, matters affecting security and stability, local governments, international organization activities, and the nexus of political extremism, organized crime, armed violence and terrorism, as required.
- Providing support for high-level visits.
- Preparing COM for country visits.
2. Interfaces to staff on the internal processes with regard to:
- Working Groups
- Battle Rhythm events
- Exercises
- Other office tasks

Contract and duration of employment:
Initial contract for a period of 6 months, possibility of 6 months extension.
Note: NATO can only employ nationals of a NATO member country.
*Subject to deductions according to the relevant provisions of Turkish Social Security and Tax Laws.
