About the job:
Based in The Hague, Netherlands you will join the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) as System Engineer (ICT) within The Command and Control Centre (C2). C2 Centre is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for Joint/Maritime/Land C2 services (including: subject matter expertise; research and development; software engineering; acquisition; operations and maintenance; and, disposal) in the following technical service areas: Land; Maritime; Joint; Special Operations, Logistics, Medical, Military Engineering and Nuclear Command and Control, Military Messaging, Situational Awareness, Operations Planning and Collective Training and Exercise Support.
We are recruiting for a talented and knowledgeable System Engineer (ICT) to be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of ICT end systems. You will handle tasks related to configuring hardware and software, managing computers and networks devices, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring data security and system reliability, and provide technical support to end-users. This role is vital in ensuring that the user facing ICT systems function seamlessly, enabling effective communication, data management, digital operations and overall productivity across the organization.

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
- A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience.
- Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
- At least 2 years practical experience of implementation and maintenance of ICT end systems within a large organization.
- Expert knowledge in one or more of technology domains and, ideally, military domains, specifically in the use of system integration, data modelling and significant knowledge of the others such as solution architecture;
- Experience in supporting military C4ISR systems, covering planning, design, system engineering and implementation;
- Knowledge of system integration, data modelling, information processing and transfer of information;
- Strong knowledge and experience with various middleware platforms and solutions such as Apache Kafka and data pipelines;
