The role:
This new post within the Chief Technology Office Architecting & Engineering (A&E) team will primarily responsible ensure coordination between the Enterprise, Capability, and Solution level architectures for the business area of the NCI Agency ‘Air Missile Defence Command & Control (AMDC2). The Senior Architect will be involved in managing, controlling, guiding and orchestrating technical architectural aspects of AMDC2 related internal and contracted programmes/projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure work is coherent with agreed architecture building blocks, standards, profiles and roadmaps.

About you:
You easily establish good relationship and are able to relate to people at all levels. You are eager and able to produce new ideas, approaches and insights to deliver innovate solutions to problems. Able to adapt to changing circumstances you can manage ambiguity, accept new ideas and change initiatives, further to this you have:
- In-depth experience in the area of ICT architecting ideally for military CIS/C4ISR systems or similar complex IT systems.
- Sound understanding of command and control concepts, challenges and implementation best practices.
- Proven and recent experience in interoperability and/or integration design in Air C2, Missile Defence or a similar domain.
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in the design and development of, distributed software systems including mission planning and tasking aspects.
- Strong background in developing and maintaining technical architectures and successfully driving an architecture to implementation.
- Experience of working with a diverse, multi-disciplinary and multi-national team.
- Proven ability to moderate architecture related discussions with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Proven experience with presenting complex technical concepts to a diverse audience and at times non-technical audience.
Desirable Experience and Education:
- Comprehensive understanding of operational tasks in the NATO C2 structure at strategic, operational and tactical levels.
- Knowledge and experience in underlying concepts, best practices and tools of C4ISR Systems, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and IT Service Provision.
- Demonstrated progressive management experience leading projects requiring an end-to-end Interoperability perspective, effectively managing more than one project.
- Familiar with current and evolving capabilities and trends in military and civilian communication protocols and standards.
- Knowledge of NATO Air and Missile Defence entities, capabilities, workflows and interfaces
- Proven ability in process analysis, and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, planning and gap analysis.
- A certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and ArchiMate modelling language.
- Knowledge in ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, or equivalent.
