About the job:

 

Based in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC), which is responsible for the Digital Workplace, covering operational NATO services, across all content classifications and security domains, for desktop computing, mail, instant messaging, video teleconference (VTC), content services platforms, telephony, printing and mobility services. NDWC responsibilities also cover the support of digital events, meetings and large-scale conferences for both the Agency and NATO stakeholders. NDWC also has the responsibility for driving the future roadmaps of these services across the NATO Enterprise to enable a NATO Digital Workplace through new services.

 

We are looking for driven and enthusiastic Principal Project Manager who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Project management: takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects;
  • Requirements definition and management: plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for large, complex initiatives;
  • User experience evaluation: manages user experience evaluation of systems, products, services or devices;
  • Risk management: identifies risks and vulnerabilities, assesses their impact and probability, develops mitigation strategies and reports to the business;
  • Contract management: negotiates and resolves contractual issues, including failure to meet contractual obligations;
  • Stakeholder relationship management: leads the development of comprehensive stakeholder management strategies and plans;
  • Management and motivation of project team(s) through clear guidance and assignment of work.

About you:

 

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • Master’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline; and 5 years post related experience. Or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years post related experience;
  • A recognised project management qualification (such as Prince2 Practitioner, Managing Successful programmes (MSP), Project Management techniques based upon PMI Knowledge area, Agile). The lack of formal project qualification may be compensated by the demonstration of expertise in the domain;
  • Recent extensive experience (at least 8 years) in the Project Management of major communication and/or command and control/management information system for a large organisation;
  • A recognised Service Management qualification (such as ITIL Foundation, ITIL specialist courses);
  • Experience in applying multi-discipline engineering and management techniques in the acquisition of complex communication and information systems;
  • Experience in private and/or public cloud infrastructure deployment, user and application migration projects (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and transition of projects to services and operations;
  • Proactive attitude in seeking and maintaining trust from stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
