This recruitment campaign will fill two Digital Communications Services Engineers posts, both based in Belgium  - Mons and Brain L' Alleud.

About the job:

Based in Brain L’ Alleud (Belgium) you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.

We are looking for two driven and enthusiastic Digital Communications Services Engineers who will take on the following roles and responsibilities, amongst other:

Information security
•    Applies and maintains specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments.
•    Communicates security risks and issues to business managers and others
Systems design
•    Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns and methodology.
•    Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and trade-offs.
Network design
•    Specifies the technical configurations and components required for a small network or a network segment in a more complex infrastructure.
•    Follows organisational architectures and standards.
Network support
•    Carries out agreed network maintenance tasks and specified operational configuration of network components.
•    Establish and diagnose network problems/faults using the required troubleshooting methodology and tools.
Systems installation and removal
•    Installs or removes hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, including handover to the client.
•    Uses standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

•    A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience;
•    At least 2 years practical experience with the designing, implementing, and maintaining the core network architecture for large organizations.
•   Good practical experience configuring, troubleshooting and optimizing routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware/software networking elements. 
•    Routing and Protocol Expertise;
•    SD-WAN and Network Virtualizatio hands-on experience;
•    Advanced Troubleshooting and Automation skills;
•    Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
