About the job:

Based in Mons, Belgium the DevOps Engineer will join the international Chief Quality Office (CQO) of the NCI Agency.  Within CQO the CFBLNet, Reference and Support Services team is the designated Operator of the Agency’s Reference Environments Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) and NATO's contribution to Combined Federated Battle Laboratories Network (CFBLNet).

The reference environment provides an emulation of multiple NATO enterprise AIS, and is the central pillar of the NATO Enterprise Reference System (NERS). The Reference Environment provides the platform to perform testing, verification and validation, change evaluation and occasionally experimentation.  The DevOps Engineer will be part of the team that provides support and subject matter expertise to CQO activities, in particular in the area of IaaS, PaaS and CI|CD.

The new post of DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of various reference, service infrastructures, and community-of-interest environments used by the CQQ and its customers. This includes ensuring efficient operation by automating service deployment and configuration, implementing proper change and configuration management practices, and ensuring that the environments replicate production environments for accurate testing.

 

In addition, the DevOps Engineer will provide subject matter expertise to projects, services, exercises, and interoperability events to the NATO Community.  This involves supporting stakeholders in preparation of the test events or witnessing tests.

About you:

 

You possess the ability to work independently, with attention to quality and engage with multidisciplinary stakeholders with tact, sound judgment, and adaptability. Additionally, your strong personal drive, motivational skills, and attentive listening contribute to your capabilities which include:

 

·       Practical working experience as DevOps engineer for at least 2 years

·       Experience provisioning and maintaining of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) in private, public or hybrid cloud environments

·       Experience in developing automated tasks using tools and platforms like, but not limited to:, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, Jenkins

·       Linux/Unix Systems and/or Windows administration experience

·       IaaS private administration on providers like: VMware, Openstack, Proxmox etc.

·       Experience in working with traditional and software defined networksKnowledge of Kubernetes and test automation principles
